Flavio Perrella

Flavio Perrella is an italian acoustic and electric bass player, composer, arranger and teacher. He graduated in classical music in Italy and in jazz performance and arranging at the Conservatory of Paris (CRR).

He has performed as a sideman with some of the today’s most acclaimed international artists and Orchestras such as Ernest Dawkins, Magic Malik, Xavier Girotto, Greg Burk, Baptiste Herbin, Enrico Zanisi, Karsten Vogel, Lionel Belmondo, Federico Casagrande, Alison Balsom, World youth orchestra, Didier Lockwood, Orchestre de musique de Chambre d’Ile de France, Pasdeloup, Victor Mendoza, Théo Ceccaldi, Yonhatan Avishai and many others.

In 2018  he has recorded his first album as leader The Bowhopper, released by Da Vinci Jazz. With Simon Martineau on the electric guitar and Thomas Delor on the drums, the Nuzut has been invited to play in renowned festivals and jazz club in Europe.

“Fly’s memory” is Flavio’s second album as leader, recorded in may 2021 in Paris with Magic Malik.

The project was created  in 2020 and it merges three different styles in only one universe: jazz, world and chamber music. It consists of four pieces adding up to forty minutes of interplay between classical strings, Iranian percussions and improvisation of flute and clarinet.

The result is an important work of writing and orchestration, in which Flavio navigate fluently.

As composer and arranger, Flavio has collected various experiences writing for chamber orchestra, big band, combo jazz orchestra and original soundtracks for movies, documentaries and theatre.
